The academic council of the European Danube Academy (EDA) has decided to organise a next Danube School 2016. The EDA plans to organise, once again in close cooperation with respective Universities in the Danube Region, a summer school in late September in Ulm/New-Ulm a short term study program for postgraduate students and young professionals. The framework will be similar to last years program: About 25 participants meet for one week to discuss with academics and decision makers about current issues in the Danube region and how to shape it for the better. The program as well as accommodation and catering shall be free of charge.
The EDA also aims at strengthening the cooperation with the Danube Area Research Centre (DAReC) that was founded in 2014 in Novi Sad by participants of the Danube Summer School 2014. DAReC has already organised an international Seminar and prepared one day of this year’s Danube Summer School. For 2016, DAReC plans to implement the first Danube Winter School, if respective funding is secured.
